​The Acate Estate is a distinguished coffee producer situated in the Antigua region of Guatemala, an area renowned for its exceptional coffee cultivation. Nestled between three volcanoes - Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. The estate benefits from rich volcanic soil and a unique microclimate, contributing to the distinctive qualities of its coffee beans.

Guatemala’s “Strictly Hard Bean” coffee is grown at elevations above 1370 meters above sea level. Beans grown at these high altitudes mature more slowly and grow to be more dense improving the attributes of body and acidity in the cup. Coffee grown below these elevations is graded as“hard bean”.

The coffee trees grow in rich volcanic soil on the hillsides under shade trees. The low humidity and dense shade trees, combined with the regions shallow water table produces a distinct dry microclimate within the coffee fields.
